Wedding Coordinator

Lord Jesus, grant that I and my spouse may have a true and understanding love for each other. Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust. Give us the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony.

May we always bear with one another’s weaknesses and grow from each other’s strengths. Help us to forgive one another’s failings and grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness and the spirit of placing the well-being of one another ahead of self.

May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing year.  Bring us both ever closer to You through our love for each other. Let our love grow to perfection.
Amen

All prospective couples need to speak with the Rector in order to initiate the wedding preparation process. Couples who are to be married at St. Clement's by-the-Sea will be directed to speak with the Parish Administrator,  who will help you select an available date and inform you about wedding fees.

The Parish's Wedding Coordinator will guide you through the many areas of concern, both prior to the wedding and on the day itself. These include  providing the support and organization needed to make your wedding a success. The Wedding Coordinator can offer suggestions on florists, photographers and other service details, but we will be pleased to work with any couple’s preferences within the Parish’s guidelines.

The canons of the Church require that each couple preparing for marriage in the Episcopal Church must undergo pre-marital counseling. Clergy cannot marry couples who have not completed pre-marital counseling.

If a member of the couple has been previously married, the canons of the Church require the permission of the Bishop to proceed with wedding plans. This process is primarily to ensure that the previous marriage has achieved appropriate closure, and that all concerns and duties regarding former spouses, the care of children, and personal property have been justly and charitably engaged. You will need to schedule a meeting with your officiating priest in order to initiate this process.
